Here are some Frequently Asked Questions. If your question is not answered below, feel free to contact us.
Q: Are you a rescue? Do you foster?
A: No. We are an organization that supports rescues and fosters. Although we have rescued our personal pets ( we have 5 pups ), we are not a rescue nor do we foster. The reason is quite frankly, the world does not need another rescue. There are literally thousands of rescues out there. Many are struggling to survive; it is for that reason that HUHA exists. With the hope that we can help the ones that already exist, stay in the fight and be successful.
Q: I lost my pet!! I found a lost pet. What do I do?
A. Although HUHA actively supports shelters and rescues, it is not an animal control agency and does not rescue animals. Please see our Did You Lose a Pet? and Found a Lost Pet? articles in our Animal Resources section.
Q: What kind of support do you provide and to whom do you provide it?
A: HUHA collects a wide range of supplies. Crates, bedding, food, preventative meds, toys, cleaning supplies ( paper towels, laundry detergent, Clorox ) as well as administrative items ( envelopes, paper, etc. ). It is our goal to also provide onsite volunteers at adoption events as we grow. Currently HUHA focuses on supporting pet rescues and fosters but we are not limited to just these groups or individuals. We are actively engaged with local dog and cat rescue groups as well as their fosters but have also donated to rabbit rescues in the past. We have provided food to families with pets that have fallen on hard times and struggle to take care of their pet(s). Bottom line, if you are helping animals and need help, we are here to help you!
Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located in Acworth, Georgia. We work out of our home and have a designated storage facility for donated items.
Q: How can I volunteer?
A: There are two ways to volunteer. You can volunteer directly within our organization, marketing, accounting, pickup/delivery, administration etc. OR you can be a HUHA on-site volunteer that we send out to adoption events to help organizations locally.
Q: What kind of items do you need/accept?
A: We have a donation page that lists out the wish-list and needs to help the current demand from rescues and fosters here. You can also contact us from that page as well.
Q: How long have you been around and are you a 501(c)(3)?
A: HUHA was established in 2014 and is a 501(c)(3). Our EIN #47-2356478
